Dr. Itishree Padhi

Dr. Itishree Padhi is the Chairperson, Department of Anthropology and PG Department of Social Work in BJB Autonomous College, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. A Gold medallist in Post-Graduation and topper in M.Phil. she was awarded Ph.D. from Sambalpur University for her research on Role-Conflict and Adjustment Patterns of Working Mothers. She is recipient of ICSSR General Fellowship for Post-Doctoral research, and was awarded D.Lit jointly by ICSSR, New Delhi and Sambalpur University, Odisha for her work on Dalit Women and Domestic Violence. Dr Padhi has five books and more than thirty research papers to her credit, published in different national and international journals, and has organised and attended many national and international conferences. She had visited countries like Thailand, Hong Kong, Japan, Croatia, Sri Lanka and Nepal, as part of her international academic assignments and demonstrated her academic excellence in her young career. She has the distinction of delivering invited lectures on Gender-Studies in many reputed institutions. Her main areas of research interest include Gender Studies, Studies on Children, and Tribal and Development Studies.
