Sarthak Sengupta (b. 1955) is a retired Professor of the Department of Anthropology, Dibrugarh University. He has forty years of teaching and research experience and has conducted extensive fieldwork among the tribe and caste populations of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, and Uttar Pradesh. He completed several research projects sponsored by UGC, ICSSR, DST, ICMR, and the Indian Tea Board on health, nutrition, and genetic disorders. He continues to be associated with many Universities as members of the Academic Council, Board of Studies, etc, He is an active life member of the Indian Anthropological Society; Indian Science Congress Association; Indian Society of Human Genetics; Assam Science Society; UIAF, etc., and Vice-Chairperson/Vice-President of INCAA, IAS at present. He is a member of the editorial board of several research journals. He has authored around 300 research articles in reputed National and International Journal and authored and edited 26 books.
